London is a great city in size as compares to other cities in England, the United Kingdom, and Western Europe. The metropolis is the capital of England and the UK. London is also a world leader in government, history and culture. Truly a diverse urban centre, London has much to offer visitors coming from around the globe. Here are some of the popular London attractions:

British Museum

An immense facility with a wealth of history, this building is free to enter. The main room under the gorgeous dome is the beginning of the wonders such as Cleopatra’s mummy and the Rosetta Stone found in the British Museum.

Houses of Parliament

A stunning and dominating landmark on the banks of the River Thames, this Palace of Westminster is one of the top sites to visit in London.

National Gallery

Free to the public, this facility is a treasury of world-class paintings by well-known artists. The tremendous volume of works is skilfully displayed. Visitors can easily spend a spellbound day admiring the masterpieces.

Regent’s Park

Originally, this property was the hunting grounds of the royals, but today the parklands are dedicated to public use. On the north end of the land is the London Zoo. Other features are such as a man-made lake, children’s play areas and tennis courts.

Tower of London

Another famous landmark, this structure used to be a prison, but today it is the secure home for the Crown Jewels. The guided tour is educational and engaging.
