The Cotswolds refers to a beautiful scenic area located in south central England, known for its many picturesque homes, gardens, rich history, and towns built of stone. The area is predominantly hilly, making it an ideal place for hiking or walking. The Cotswolds accommodation is located across several counties of England, including Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, and Oxfordshire. More so than any other location within the country, it is known for being the quintessential English scene of rural beauty. Several small towns can be found within the area, many of which have quaint inns or hotels that serve as accommodation for those exploring the area on holiday. There are few traditional budget accommodations, although some families are willing to let a room to visitors staying a night or two. Many inns and bed and breakfasts do great business in the larger towns.
One of the most beautiful towns in the Cotswolds is Chipping Norton, home to several historical landmarks. There are numerous accommodation choices in the town, with two in particular being favorites of tourists. These include The Blue Boar and The Chequers. In the nearby city of Burford, The Fox Inn is a popular place to stay among repeat visitors. With a location on the river and connected to an inviting and popular pub, guests can have all their meals in one location. One of the cheaper places to stay in the Costwolds can be found in Bourton-on-the-Water, and is called the Alderley Guest House. Rooms price at around $40AUD, which is about as close to budget as can be found in the area.
